About
Rose City Coffee Company now calls the Westmoreland neighborhood home, where we own and operate the oldest coffee roasting business in Portland--Schondecken Coffee Roasters. Our business began a year prior to this acquisition, with a few hundred bricks, a camp stove, and a thermometer which we had compiled to build a coffee roaster. Fueled by propane and two friends' love of all things coffee, our original roaster crafted our first batches in our North Portland carport. Our homespun beginnings formed our belief that craft coffee should be fresh, friendly, and locally crafted. Our obsessively detail-oriented roasting practices, hands-on customer service, and use of all local vendors give our coffee its edge.
