In April of 2011 Dixie and I purchased an existing location of Minuteman Press. I have been in the printing business for 39 years and after losing a job with an international company because of the slowed economy, we found this diamond in the ruff! This location has been in Orem for about 15 years. The previous owner had even won the outstanding small business award from the Chamber Of Commerce in March of 2011. One thing we did was tried to keep the key core employee’s, we felt this was very instrumental in us moving forward. Not just with the way they perform their jobs, but their knowledge of the customer base.Very shortly after we took ownership we had to evaluate the state of our equipment. Since the digital market is the way of the future, that was our first move. The digital press we had was 12-13 years old and needed upgrading. We purchased a new Konica Minolta C7000 Bushub. What a great printing machine! After that we looked towards our sheetfed (offset presses). These needed some attention; this was my area of expertise. We now have those under control.In moving forward, we found the need for a digital full color envelope printer. We researched for a few months and we believe that we have purchased the best one on the market, it is the Oki Data. We can print almost any size envelope very small to the 10 X 13 catalog envelopes. We can also do variable data with this printer. We are also going to upgrade our location in June of 2012, we will be moving to about 934 north and state street in Orem Utah.
