The Academy of Tucson Elementary School is a charter school that provides an environment that includes all the elements needed for an excellent education: small, safe campuses and classes, a rigorous yet realistic curriculum, highly qualified teachers, friendly classmates, and varied social and athletic activities. MISSION STATEMENT Our mission statement is the foundation of our school. We manage our mission so we may remain true to our purpose. Our mission is to provide a quality education characterized by: * A sound college preparatory curriculum. * A curriculum under the direction of a faculty of well educated and qualified, respected, encouraging, and caring teachers. * Communicative & accountable administration. CURRICULUM The Academy of Tucson Elementary School provides a curriculum which not only aligns with the Arizona State Standards, but takes them to a higher level. We pride ourselves in having a rigorous academic program which allows each child to achieve using a variety of learning styles. We utilize textbooks, hands on experiences, visual and technical instruction, and group learning. On occasion, we also venture out into the community to enhance our units of study. Our students focus on independent work skills, cooperative learning skills, responsibility and respect for oneself and others. Along with our traditional academic curriculum, we provide Art, Music, Physical Education, and library classes, because they are an intricate part of student growth. The moment you walk through the gate, you can't help but notice our safe learning environment filled with engaged happy students. Our goal at The Academy of Tucson Elementary School is to help children grow both academically and socially so they can become a positive force in our society.
