About
The GO SOBER approach to treating alcohol addiction is changing the lives of those afflicted by addiction. Three basic steps begin to create a new life for the participant quickly in response to real, medical treatment. 1) The condition is treated using a medical solution that eliminates the physical desire for alcohol. GO SOBER is not AA or like a 12-step based program. It is medication-assisted treatment to restore lost reward function. It is real treatment addressing the failure mechanism that makes it so difficult to quit and maintain abstinence. 2) The participants are “ready to change.” Unfortunately, no alcohol treatment program can help someone who’s not really ready to quit. There is a very high statistical correlation between readiness and successful, long term outcome. 3) After treatment, there is an ongoing process of “stacking the deck” in favor of the participant through lifestyle change. In their new life without alcohol, people need to feel good, and experience the reward response generated by other activities. These include exercise, nutrition, life-coaching, and much more.
