I received a credit card type of gift certificate for a "Deluxe Detailing" for about $70 from my daughter and son-in-law. The car wash counter person scanned it & told me that I owed $65. I said that this was not possible b/c I'd never used the gift certificate before. She scanned it again and insisted that it was "because of the tax". I showed her the circled brochure describing what they purchased for me. Although I had no proof of their payment, I said that they would never have given me a $10 birthday gift.
