Welcome to The Cake Artist's Studio! The Cake Artist's Studio is located in Champaign, Illinois, serving all surrounding communities within a 150 mile delivery radius. The owner and pastry chef of The Cake Artist's Studio is Ashlee Roderick, graduate of The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. Her 15 years of experience have included work in the pastry departments of The Peabody Hotel in Memphis, TN and John's Island Club in Vero Beach, FL. Ashlee was also the Pastry Chef at Blantyre in Lennox, MA, a Moblie Five Star resort and a member of Relais and Chateaux. Since returning to her hometown in 2001, Ashlee has made more than 850 wedding cakes and numerous birthday and special occasion cakes. She is a member of the International Cake Exploration Societe and continues to pursue excellence in her field by participating in educational workshops. In September 2007, Ashlee competed in the national Wedding Cake competition winning a Silver Medal in the Hollywood Glamour Cake division of the Oklahoma Sugar Arts Show in Tulsa, OK. Out of 70 Cake designers from across the country, Ashlee finished in the top 15 finalists with her cake entitled, "We're Not in Kansas Anymore". his six-tiered "Wizard of Oz" fantasy cake was a hit with all ages and was seen by more than 50,000 show visitors in two days. We make cakes, tarts, pies, brownies and bars, cookies, decorated shortbread and individual desserts. All can be custom ordered or choose from our ready to go selections everyday. We hold wedding cake tasting parties the last Wednesday nite of each month from 7-8 pm. These are no charge cake tastings for the engaged couple or their representatives. Reservations are suggested. Picture books are available for viewing and questions are encouraged. All of our finger food comes in individual sized white baking cups and boxed for transportation.
