The Heard Museum West is a community location of the world-famous Native American Heard Museum in partnership with the City of Surprise, Arizona, located in the West Valley of metropolitan Phoenix. Heard Museum West is a 7,000-square-foot facility including exhibit gallery, classroom, garden and shop. The branch facility opened in 2006. Heard West features two exhibit galleries. The permanent exhibit, "Our Stories: American Indian Culture in Arizona," features more than 400 works from the Heard's collection that reveal American Indian reflections on homeland, families, communities and art. The second space, a changing gallery, features approximately two exhibits each year. A classroom for children's hands-on activities is also part of Heard Museum West. The museum also offers tours, classes, adult programs and continuing education classes. Heart Museum West is located in the city of Surprise, Arizona. This community location brings the Heard Museum's renowned permanent collection and incredible programming to the West Valley.
