The Growing Place began as Emma's Perennials in 1936 on Plank Road in Naperville. It now has a second location on Montgomery Road in Aurora. Approximately 3000 varieties of beautiful, healthy plants are carefully signed and arranged for easy shopping. The plants are surrounded by gardens that help you get to know how they perform. Customers comment that they love the botanical garden feel of the site. Shop for your garden in their gardens. A landmarked Greek Revival, early Italianate home, circa 1860, was moved to the Aurora location to serve as a charming gift shop. Gift shops at both locations stay open for the holidays and offer designer created holiday decorations, fresh greens, and more. The Growing Place grows most of their perennials, annuals, herbs, and vegetable plants at their Aurora location.
