Squaw Valley Academy (SVA) started thirty-five years ago at the base of Squaw Valley ski mountain with a handful of students and a vision for a new kind of education, an intimate, first-rate, academic experience with the adventures, rigors, and experiences to be had in the awe-inspiring Sierra Nevada. This was to be a place where students could learn how to succeed on many levels, both in and out of the classroom. Over the years, SVA has grown, expanded its facilities and reach, but it has never strayed from its core mission: the success of each and every student. We understand that not every student has had an unending string of successes in his or her career – that failure is actually an important part of the process that ultimately creates success.
