Alternative Education Foundation (AEF) Schools and Westham Academy provide an alternative approach to teaching and learning for children grades 1-12 whose needs are not being met by traditional public schools or mainstream services. AEF’s unique program utilizes cognitive skill remediation to modify or eliminate negative actions and prepare students for life by helping them develop the cognitive, social, physical and academic skills necessary to live constructively in society. Westham Academy offers students grades 1-12 a strong life and social skill education in a supportive, intensive and nurturing environment. The program places an emphasis on independent living, expected social skills, and necessary self-regulatory skills. Smaller class sizes enable AEF and Westham Academy staff to provide each child with personal attention and customized instruction based on their needs.
