I have been around construction all of my life as my father started as a carpenter and became a successful residential and commercial contractor. After completing military service in 1967, I enrolled in a formal union apprenticeship training and became a journeyman carpenter. After nine years, I obtained my contractors license and started my own contracting business. In 1979, I joined Grissom Garage Builders as home modernization manager. In 1991, I assumed ownership of the company when the founder, my father-in-law, retired. Grissom Garage Builders is a family business operating out of the same location since 1951 specializing in residential garage building and concrete. In 1979, home improvement became a major expansion of the company covering most aspects of home modernization including roofing, siding, room additions, porches, decks, and porch enclosures. Today, we specialize in replacing and remodeling old or damaged garages along with concrete replacement as well as new garages and home improvement. We have an office building and five model garages at a great corner location. We have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau dating back to 1996. We have always worked in the metro Detroit area as well as five surrounding counties. We serve Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston and Washtenaw counties. We provide expert service, quality work and timely completion of projects. All of our tradesmen have been with us for many years and are experts in their respective fields.
