Co Founders Nastassia Laster and fire captain Bobby Laster, along with several other fire captains, police officers and high-ranking government officials, developed the Disaster Emergency Assessment Notification to assist people in times of emergencies. Though it was originally designed to aide facilities such as churches, schools, and hospitals, it can be used by virtually anyone in any emergency situation. This mobile application will allow people to track members and victims after a major disaster, as well as, allow parents to locate their children. The system utilizes Quick Response (QR) code barcodes, which are recognized by the mobile application. By scanning the QR code (which is embedded on a user’s tag), a staff member will be able to provide the user’s name, age, gender, and injury information to the emergency response team.
