About me: After spending the first seven years of my working career in corporate accounting, I discovered my calling in the investment business and spent the next 31 years working for Smith Barney (and predecessor firms). Among the jobs that I held during that period were Registered Representative, Branch Office Manager, General Partner, Regional Manager (Midwest), Member of the Chicago Board of Trade, and Manager of the Options Department, while reaching the level of Corporate Senior Vice President. During my first career, I managed multi-million dollar portfolios in equities, options and futures. I retired from Smith Barney in 1997 and spent 12 years away from the work force, but I kept very active in the investing of my personal and family funds. I joined Wells Fargo (a firm I had long admired) in January 2009 and enthusiastically started my second career in the investment world. Now I use my substantial experience to help investors in or near retirement successfully cope with the volatile securities markets and minimal interest rates that we are experiencing today.
