Natural Bronzing can also go darker too for those who want to intensify their color at anytime. The active ingredient in our product is dihydroxyacetone (DHA) which has been shown to be safe by the Food and Drug Administration. These products were first discovered in the late 1920's when DHA was spilled on the skin and a brown color appeared. DHA gives color to the skin through a "browning reaction." When applied to the skin DHA changes into a sugar which combines with amino acids in the skin to form chemical compounds known as melaninoids which are brown in color.
