Was treated with outrageous disrespect by one of the volunteers at this shelter. For a normal, caring family that loves and respects animals, adopting a guinea pig should be straight forward and enjoyable. After filling out extensive forms and giving personal references (for adopting a guinea pig!) we were 'denied' because we have a 5 year old boy. She then proceeded to send me several crazy and harassing e-mails, gleefully making fun of my whole family and especially my five year old. It was almost surreal.
