Aguila o Sol – Restaurant & Cantina first opened its doors in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma on the 6th of September 2006. Our name came about while trying to decide between two other names; a coin was tossed into the air and so the story begins. You see, the straight translation of “Aguila o Sol” is “Eagle or Sun” which are the two sides of an old Mexican coin. Why did we choose this as our name? Well, because just like us, you may need a little help tossing a coin when choosing from our vast menu selections! Chicken or Beef? Fajitas or Burritos? Rice or Beans? If you can’t decide… flip a coin!  We also take pride in traditional home style Mexican dishes and freshly in-house cuisine preparation such as: pork tamales and carnitas, chile relleno, guacamole, rice and beans to name a few. Our customers especially enjoy our authentic regional recipes from Central and Southern México, such as: Cochinita Pibil and Mole Poblano. Our Cochinita Pibil is a traditional Mexican slow-roasted pork dish from the Yucatan Peninsula. Prepared by the Mayans since ancient times, our special recipe has been passed down for many generations. Our Mole Poblano, on the other hand, comes from central Mexico. This chicken and/or pork dish is smothered with a rich, dark reddish-brown chocolately sauce for a unique flavor.  At Aguila o Sol we want you to enjoy every meal, the atmosphere and our friendly service.
