USA Ballet is unique because it is an academy to train the serious and recreational student and dancer from age 2 ½ through adult, has a student performing group entitled the USA Ballet Youth Ensemble where the students are the stars, and a fully professional adult ballet company back in action after a brief hiatus. Our students have received numerous awards from international ballet competitions, receiving great commentary from the ballet world’s most prestigious dance figures including Natalia Makarova (Kirov Ballet), Yelena Vinogradova (Kirov Ballet), Laura Alonzo (National Ballet of Cuba), Alexander Dementjev (Yekaterinburg Ballet), Diana White (NYC Ballet), and Eleanor D’Antuono (American Ballet Theatre). USA Ballet Academy teaches Vaganova, the traditional Russian style of classical ballet, offering a disciplined setting combined with the fun and enthusiastic approach of our teachers. Our artistic staff are qualified teachers as well as professional dancers, all of whom have national and international careers, guaranteed to bring a passion for dance to your child. Classes offered: Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Partnering, Flex & Strength, Boys Class Ages: 2 ½ years old – Adult Youth Ensemble: A student performing group that offers your child a chance to shine on stage; open to ages 8-17. These students have three performance seasons, which includes the traditional holiday classic, The Nutcracker. Annual Summer Intensive: One to Two weeks Two levels of intense training are offered to the serious ballet student. Classes include ballet technique, pointe, partnering, variations, character, jazz, modern, contemporary and dance history. The older students also have a class in choreography. At the end of the summer intensive, the students are showcased in a free performance. This is a great way to improve, make new friends, and enjoy your passion, dance. Professional Company: The USA Ballet Company hires national and international dancers to make up its roster who then relocate to B/N. Its size has ranged from 8-18 full time artists, tours from coast to coast performing in 4000 seat theatres, lectures at colleges, brings professional ballet to rural America and, true to its mission, shares ballet with at risk youth, special needs groups, and the elderly population.
