Since it first opened to the public in 1995, SATORI RYU KENPO KARATE JUJITSU has had a reputation for the highest standard of excellence. Thedirectors of the organization, Shihan Eric Kearns and Shihan John Rietz,are well recognized for their contributions to and expertise in theMartial Arts. All of our instructors at Satori Ryu take an activeinterest in each and every student and feel that there is much more tolearn from the Martial Arts than just Punching and Kicking. The nameSATORI RYU which is Japanese, translates to “The School OfUnderstanding.” Satori Ryu Kenpo Karate Ju Jitsu is a dynamic artcomprised of Kenpo, Shotokan and various forms of Ju Jitsu. Satori Ryuseeks to maintain the integrity of Grand Master Mark Sheeley's KenshoRyu and Professor Nick Cerio's Kenpo Karate, and to pass the teachingsof these Great Masters on to new generations of martial arts students.As the name of the school implies, Satori Ryu student are taught to gobeyond the surface level of instruction and strive for a deeperunderstanding of the Martial Arts. Students learn to take the lessonstaught in the Dojo and apply them to every aspect of their lives. SatoriRyu is constantly bringing new concepts, training methods and theoriesinto our programs in an effort to expand our knowledge base and enhancethe quality of our organization.
