Owner of Cane Masters and founder of the CMIA, Grand Master Mark Shuey Sr., announce the official recognition of the American Cane System. Designed as a complete self-defense and exercise system, the American Cane System has been endorsed by the ICHF as their official cane training wing, the International Martial Arts Head Founders/Grand Masters Council, the Grand Masters, Head Founders, Head of Family Sokeship Council, the World Head of Family Sokeship Council, and has been incorporated into the American Eagle System of the American Martial Arts Institute. Many traditional martial arts styles have expressed interest in complementing their curriculums with the American Cane System, and health professionals around the country have given a big "thumbs-up" to the effectiveness and efficiency of the exercise portion for their clients.
