Shelley Howe, MS, RD, CDN is a graduate of Syracuse University with a BS in Clinical Dietetics. She earned her MS degree in Nutrition from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, Massachusetts. Following college Shelley taught Nutrition and Dietetics at Holyoke Community College in Holyoke, Massachusetts for 7 years becoming an Assistant Professor and Department Head. After moving back to her roots on Long Island she raised two sons, Daniel and Peter with her husband Jeff, Shelley worked in the Public schools as the Child Nutrition Program Director for 25 years. After retiring Shelley returned to her passion for nutrition education through a variety of Nutrition consultant channels. Currently Shelley provides Nutrition consultant services as follows: Nutrition private practice In Service programs on selected nutrition topics Long Island Coordinator for Action For Healthy Kids (Ultimate Game On Challenge) Nutrition Expert on Expert Panel for College Parent Magazine (write articles)* Write articles for local newspapers Nutrition consultant to local food service companies (Island Ice Cream, Answer Vending) Public Speaking on nutrition and fitness topics Nursing Home work Shelley will assist as a Nutrition Consultant wherever there is a nutrition need in which she can make a contribution. Fees depend upon nature and duration of consultant work.
