Small places have big surprises: the Chama Valley offers a number of good restaurants, but none in such a spectacular setting, and under the direction of John McVey for the second year is serving up a food experience you might not expect in northern New Mexico. Lobster Thermidor, Chicken Barbican, Tenderloin of Beef as entrees on one week, Snapper Almandine, Piccata of Pork and Steak Au Poivre the next. Great desserts and starters, too.
