While our prescription services at Stangel Pharmacy, Inc. have included commercially available prescriptions and home health equipment since 1975, our compounding pharmacy specializes in meeting patients' specific needs through a very personal "state of the art" approach. Compounding allows us to create formulations in unique strengths and dosage forms such as creams, suppositories, capsules, liquids, lip balms, and even lollipops. Pharmacy 2000 uses 100-percent barcode verification on stock bottles for medications, stores electronic images of paper prescriptions, and consolidates all prescriptions for each patient in a single location for complete and accurate verification. Stangel Pharmacy also utilizes a Parata RDS robotic dispensing system to further increase efficiency and patient safety. The RDS robot will accurately label, fill, and cap prescription bottles, allowing the pharmacy staff to be more available to patients. The RDS will accomodate 240 of the most utilized medications, automating approximately 60% of the prescription volume. The PickPoint intelePharmacy WCS will call system is the newest and most unique technology tool at Stangel Pharmacy. The PickPoint system manages all of the prescriptions that are filled and waiting to be picked up. Lighted hanging bags illuminate when the patients name is entered. This improves the patient experience by decreasing wait times at pick-up.
