I have just come from Yreka vet after having my 17 year old cat put to sleep. during her exam yesterday she bit the assistant. This cat has been an indoor only cat her entire life and because of this I stopped her vaccines 5 years ago.Because she had bitten the assistant I was told that her brain would have to be sent to the health dept to be tested for rabies... My cat had renal failure so I had decided to put her to sleep. since it was after 4 p.m I was told that it was too late to send her brain that day and she would have to spend the night at the vet.
