About
The History behind Isorropia- I’ve had a passion for playing sports my entire life. Growing up I mostly focused on competitive soccer and football & track. I received a scholarship for DII Football at Ouachita Baptist University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science. Shortly thereafter I moved to TX and became a Personal Trainer and Performance Coach working with all levels of athletes focusing on strength and speed training. I also used the same system to help “regular” men and women lose weight and construct lean bodies. I began CrossFit Training in 2007 & was immediately hooked! I found my new sport! I finally discovered an avenue of training that incorporates a team environment, pushed my body to new limits and fed my hunger for competition again. In 2009 with only a hand full of clients (which I am honored to say are still my faithful clients to this day) I decided to become an independent trainer and started Isorropia Performance & Fitness. Over the last few years I along with the help and support of my wife, Jamie Lynn have continued building Isorropia and the CrossFit community in Carrollton, TX. We are excited to officially become CrossFit Isorropia and have our very own box for the CrossFit community in the North Dallas area. CrossFit has changed the face of fitness and with good reason. It works! This is my passion I don’t ever see myself doing anything else. -Drew Denny CERTIFICATIONS: •B.A. KINESIOLOGY / EXERCISE SCIENCE •CROSSFIT LEVEL I •CROSSFIT MOBILITY •USA WEIGHTLIFTING •VSP PERFORMANCE COACH •AMERICAN COUNCIL ON EXERCISE •SPARQ TRAINER CERTIFIED •FIRST AID/CPR CERTIFIED Fitness in 100 Words: Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.
Review
I was visiting family in DFW and decided to check out CrossFit Isorropia while I was in town. I am new to CrossFit so I was a little intimiated to go by myself not knowing what to expect, BUT to my pleasant surprise everyone was SO nice and welcoming! The workout kicked my butt! Drew was great & really helped me with my form even though I was only there 2 x's. I recommend anyone in this area sign up at CFI! I also got a cute Tshirt for only $5.00 more than the drop in fee :) I'll def go back when I visit my Dad next time.
