About

David and Rene Gotter founded D&R Energy Services in 2010. After starting D&R Machine Co. in 1997 and Alton Machine Works in 2003, the couple became interested in alternative energy, namely solar and wind. They started D&R Energy Services to provide businesses alternate solutions to reduce energy costs and waste. In 2010 they pitched a solar energy plan to Mel Cook, who at the time was vice president of Alton Steel and a good friend of the Gotters, having done business with them in the past. Once he retired from Alton Steel that year, Cook joined the D&R Energy Services team heading research and development. Also joining the team was local businessman Lee Hamel. Lee has had a successful career as an entrepreneur and is the human resources manager for D&R Companies. The sole purpose of D&R Energy Services is to provide residential, business, municipal and commercial property owners with quality green energy products, such as LED lighting, solar panels and wind turbines, as well as any information needed allowing them to feel confident in their energy efficiency decisions.
