George's Flowers first opened as "George's... an affair with flowers" in Salem VA. A move to downtown Roanoke 6 months later when George Clements acquired the former Noble's Flowers business location at 430 Church Ave. A later change to the name was made to help with getting the long name and logo on printed material and reducing the time to answer the phones!
