DeRonde Design Associates (DDA) is a New York State Licensed Architecture and Design Firm serving New York's Hudson Valley region for over 30 years. DDA's Founder and Principal is Robert Norris DeRonde, R.A., who graduated from the School of Architecture, Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY. DeRonde Design Associates specializes in Energy-Conserving, Earth-Friendly Commercial and Residential Design, both new and rehab (contemporary and traditional). Additional areas of expertise include: Project Feasibility Studies, Site Planning and Design, Historic Restoration and Conversion, Representation in Planning and Zoning Matters, Design for Special Needs Populations, Project Management, Interior and Exterior Landscape Design, New Product and Graphics Design. Mr. DeRonde has also served as an expert witness in civil cases involving architectural problems in both state and federal courts. DDA's staff includes a graduate Industrial Designer, an Interior Designer, a Graphics Designer, Landscape Designer, and Psychologist experienced in Human Factors. On an "as need" basis, for complex engineering problems, DeRonde Design Associates consults only with licensed engineers, expert specialists in their field of interest. Mr. DeRonde's portfolio of completed work consists of a 20,000 square foot office building currently used by the Internal Revenue Service (formerly the Social Security Administration); a Shopping Center in the Town of Washington; a variety of totally new and altered convenient stores, gas stations, restaurants, banks, and municipal fire house additions; many rehabilitated historic buildings and conversions; a new assisted living residence; a new battered women shelter; places of worship, solar barns, multi-family residences, townhouse developments, medical and dental facilities, and many large to modest homes, additions, garages, patios, and pools.
