When in Chester, CT you absolutely have to check out The River Tavern on Main Street. It fits wonderfully in the town, quaint yet upscale and fun. The food is made from locally grown vegetables, fruits and livestock or freshly caught sea creatures when available. Appetizers, such as hummus and guacamole are a huge hit. I personally enjoy the soup of the day this time of year. Last night it was a roasted butternut squash with scallops and bacon! Yummy! Entree's are wonderfully prepared and are plated beautifully.
