When you walk in the humane society, it breaks your heart. Dogs all over the place, barking, crying and lonely. My kids and I went yesterday to adopt a puppy, but could not leave with a dog because all of the board members were in a meeting. I called today and was told I was not approved to adopt a puppy. Why? Because I don't have a vet reference. How could I have a vet when I haven't had a dog since I was a kid. How sad that our family was denied to bring a puppy into our loving home, instead of being confined to a shelter. That just doesn't seem right to me.
