Just look at these photos! This HUGE pile of trash is the packaging that came from one order of 14 Chinese-made shutters, and it’s going straight into the landfill. Imported shutters require heavy packaging to make it safely on their two and a half month journey from China to Texas - and it doesn’t always protect them fully. One arrived damaged and it will be another 6-8 weeks before a replacement can be delivered. When producing our locally made shutters, we don’t create even 10% of this much trash. The millwork is done in Lubbock and shipped to our factory in reused plywood containers. It takes a lot less fuel to ship shutter parts from Lubbock to Austin than it does to ship from China to Texas! If you’re just looking for the cheapest shutters you can find, you might find they aren’t so cheap after all. You’ll save a little on the order, but at a large and unnecessary cost to the environment. And you won’t be getting a high-quality shutter made in Texas with real American hardwood. When you shop locally-owned stores for products made right here in Texas, it’s a better value for you, a better product, and a better deal for our planet!
