Mount Whitney Motel is located in the small town of Lone Pine, California, which offers a variety of different vacation activities for our guests. You can find activities ranging from checking out sites where old Western films and some of today's biggest Hollywood blockbuster films were made, to hiking one of the highest mountains in the United States. Mount Whitney is the highest summit in the contiguous United States with an elevation of 14,505 feet. Whitney Portal is the base camp and where the trail starts for the 22-mile round-trip hike to Mount Whitney. Whitney Portal is located just 13 miles west of Lone Pine. We are just a short drive away from Mammoth Lakes, which is home to Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort where thousands of people flock to during the winter season to enjoy some great skiing or snowboarding.
