I was born and raised in Sparks, Nevada, earned my bachelor’s at the University of Nevada, and I chose to raise my family here, too. This is a great community where people lend a hand and live a good, healthy lifestyle. And I work on doing the same. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in July 2015, and I count myself a survivor. I stay active biking, camping and running with my family, volunteering at the schools where my two girls attend, and spending time with my mentee, who is on the University of Nevada Cheerleading and Dance Team (of which I’m a former member). I’m a lot like a momma bear. And not just in my personal life. After six years as a stay-at-home mom, I became an insurance agent in 2003 and built an agency from scratch. I’ve staffed my agency with two dedicated claims managers who help customers from a tender, loving care perspective when they file a claim—a decision that isn’t the norm. But I’m proud to be running a business where our level of care is what sets us apart.
