DO NOT get Fred Makofka as your child's 5th grade teacher. He is the absolute worst educator I have ever encountered. I tried all year to get my child out of his class, but unfortunately his was the smallest class (since no one else wanted him to be their child's teacher either) so they would not allow us to switch. I am not sure why a teacher so awful would have been hired in the first place.
