About

Hello from Engine House Cafe! The Engine House Cafe was at one time Havelock’s original Fire Station. Engine House #4, built in 1900, was then home to a horse drawn fire team. In the 1970’s, the Fire Station moved to Fremont and Touzalin Streets. For some years during the 1980’s, the building housed the commonly known Salvation Army thrift store. The wood ceiling that accentuates the entire building is the original ceiling from the year 1900. The two large wooden beams at the entrance are what is left of the Bell Tower that was present at the time. A covered hole still displays the location of the entrance to the tower. Every one of our collectibles on the walls came from retired and active firemen, their families, and friends. The Engine House was renovated in early 1995 to become what is now The Engine House Cafe. The Engine House Cafe opened in June 1995. We are ecstatic to have you as our guests, so sit back, relax and enjoy your meal in Havelock’s Historic Cafe - The Engine House!
