Although affiliated with a main line Protestant denomination--Presbyterian Church (USA)--Pilgrims is progressive in theology and worship. It's known by many in Dupont Circle as "the church with the rainbow banner over its entrance," a public pronouncement of the congregations' welcome to the GLBT community. It's a member of the GLBT rights organization, "More Light Presbyterians," and includes GLBT persons in its lay leadership. It's not a "GLBT church" though.
