I have never and hope I never again have to deal with these people. Rude is the safest word I can use here. I suppose when a person gets to the point that they have to even communicate with this type of issue, you could expect not-so-nice people. Simply because we find ourselves in a tough place at this point, does not mean we are irresponsible people. I consider myself as being harrassed! Debt collection does not have to be this way.
