The Canoe Shack is a horrible canoe rental place on the Fox River in South Elgin, Illinois. The canoes are broken. The life jackets are moldy. It costs 60$ to rent a canoe. They say they'll be waiting to pick you up at the end. But they weren't there. We waited for two hours in a hot parking lot. Plus the pickup point is in a cement parking lot, right next to a dam. It was very difficult to dock the canoe; actually dangerous. However, it's the only place this outfit can do it, because they don't have a business license. We would strongly advise to steer
