Surplus Centers Inc. opened their doors as an outlet for locally manufactured implement and construction equipment overstock and discontinued items in the late 1980’s. In the early 1990’s the name was changed to Milan Surplus . While still offering industrial overstocks Milan Surplus added basic automotive, truck and tractor items. In 2000 and 2001 another change came to Milan Surplus. With the shift in our local manufacturing base we added freight salvage, store buy-outs and store returns to our inventory. In 2006 Milan Surplus was sold to new owners, Dev and Lynn DeSplinter. Dev is a native of the Quad Cities, raised on a farm and a graduate of Sherrard High School. The DeSplinter’s are local folks investing in the community. As we continue to buy and look for more and varied merchandise, we strive to keep the shopping fun and forever changing. Our goal is to keep our name known for steel and aluminum with over one-half million pounds of hardware, fasteners, tools, and casters. Our motto says it all… ”IF IT'S IN STOCK, WE HAVE IT!”
