Our mission at Gaston Hospice is to enhance the quality of life of people who are terminally ill. We are a non profit healthcare organization that provides hospice care for people who have a life-limiting illness that is no longer responding to treatments. We provide hospice care in the home, in the Robin Johnson House, in the long-term care facility, and in the hospital. Some of our hospice care services include pain and symptom management, assistance with financial and legal issues from a medical social worker, certified nursing assistants to help with personal care, and respite care for family caregivers who need a break. We have volunteers who would be willing to provide companionship or to run errands. Our non profit healthcare organization also provides medications, equipment, and supplies. Gaston Hospice serves any resident of Gaston County and the surrounding area who has been diagnosed with a life expectancy of six months or less. We provide hospice care services regardless of diagnosis or the ability of the patient or the family to pay.
