Urban Pita is a kosher restaurant specializing in fast, healthy and delicious Middle Eastern style food and kosher catering. Urban Pita marks the first restaurant venture for owner-partners Avishay Avraham and Ofer Keynan. They wanted to create something new and different-a fast food, Middle Eastern restaurant that would bring together the ultimate in taste and healthy eating. They drew from their extensive experience in the New York food industry and opened Urban Pita in early 2007 on East Houston Street in the center of Manhattan's bustling Lower East Side. From the beginning, Urban Pita's customers gave rave reviews and, in a very short time, the restaurant became known as the home of the best pita sandwiches in New York. You see, at Urban Pita we bake our own pita bread (white and whole wheat) on the premises 10 to 12 times daily to ensure that we always have the freshest, most delicious pita available for our sandwiches and platters. Accompanying all our sandwiches and platters is our unique salad bar, where you will find traditional salads and tehini sauce as well as cauliflower, coleslaw, pickles, Tabuli, hot pepper, four kinds of delicious sauces and more. The salad bar is open and it allows each customer to build a sandwich or platter to his or her own individual taste.
