I called for an estimate on boat canvas. When the owner/operator showed up to look at the job (late), he seemed sincere. Promised me an estimate via email within 5 days. When 8 days had passed, I called...no answer or return call. I let another few days go by, then I sent him an email. Again no response. A week later, I called again and asked that he at least call me and let me know if he just wasn't interested in or capable of doing the job, he never called back.
