I was giving my baby up for adoption at the age of 16 through Catholic Charities. the moment they found out my baby had a birth defect they dropped us like a hot potato. I was devastated as I went to hold my baby in the ICU/nursery every day for the two weeks I was in the hospital, feeling like she was being abandoned twice already in her short life so far. I see that they say the birth family is one of their top three priorities but that was not the case. My baby was abandoned, as was I, and they didn't follow up with me at all.
