Brought our Toyota in for a minor issue (later repaired by me without any real mechanical skill for $158 part cost) and was told by Casey that the part needed cost $367 and the mechanic had inadvertently stripped manifold threads while trying to remove it and new manifold would be needed at about $1300 for grand total near $1700. Told them to stop work, put everything back and I would get it taken care of elsewhere. They still charged a $60 diagnostic fee.
