A check engine light was diagnosed as a failing transmission. I was quoted a fair price for replacing it. Upon completion of the work I discovered the AC no longer worked. They claimed that it had nothing to do with their work, just a coincidence. $650 to fix that. I later found out that when replacing a transmission the engine gets moved around a lot and this likely broke the seals in the AC.
