About

The Fleetwood has everything you expect from a downtown destination without the pretentious attitude. Their philosophy is come-as-you-are; no gimmicks and no rip-offs. It offers a lot – a bar, restaurant and lounge - yet demands very little. Located just steps from Petco Park on a prime corner spot in the East Village, The Fleetwood’s menu has been designed to reflect the comfortable and cozy interior. The goal of Executive Chef Mark Bolton, a California Culinary Academy-trained chef and who was previously with Pacifica Del Mar, was to create a menu of childhood favorite dishes prepared in a very grown up way. On the menu, you’ll see some familiar favorites, such as tater tots and mac ‘n cheese, along with more exotic fare like the Ahi poke. The best part: all menu items are reasonably priced and the serving sizes leave you completely satisfied. The big guy behind the bar is Aaron Phillips who created the concept for The Fleetwood bringing along his 15 years of experience in the industry. Recognizable from his previous gigs at Side Bar and Moondoggies, Aaron knows what people like to drink and how to mix it properly. He’s loaded the bar with his original, inventive specialty drinks, an eclectic wine list featuring local and international bottles and a collection of beers on tap that showcase the best and brightest brews coming out of the San Diego area. After dinner, diners don’t have to dash. The Fleetwood’s dance floors are packed on Friday and Saturday nights with the freshest DJs spinning atop a fireplace that’s been transformed into a DJ booth. Expect to see DJ Rush and various special guest DJs every Friday night at The Wood, a room adjacent to the restaurant that, by day, is a top-of-the-line sports lover’s haven and a swanky lounge by night. Here you can order up bottle service and reserve VIP tables. With its close proximity to the baseball stadium, The Fleetwood doesn’t overlook sports fans. During football and baseball seasons, sports fans can be found at The Fleetwood, enjoying cocktails, bottle service, plush couch seating, surround sound and the biggest games on the nine high-def big screen TV’s and two 10 x 10 ft high-def projection screens. When the Padres are playing at home, before the game, after the game or just to watch the game, the party starts at The Fleetwood. Fans flock to the outdoor patios and gourmet grub. Due to the popularity of the pre-and post-game festivities, reservations are strongly recommended. The options are endless but whatever happens, be sure to experience The Fleetwood.

Review

While in town for some training I wondered down town to get some lunch and the reseraunt looked nice so i wondered in to check out the menu. The bartender on duty explained thier menu down to the most minute details. I ordered a the bacon chedar burger. I underestimated the portion size. In order for me to finish the burger I had to cut out the bread and half the fries. To wash it all down i had a Cape cod, it was just rite. Most bartenders either make them strong or weak on the Vodka. This young man made it perfect. I would recommend The Fleetwood to all of my frie
