I was charged an appraisal fee above average by this appraiser for a refinance loan. My mortgage broker explained that due to regulations they now have no control over who the banks farm out appraisals to and the borrower is now charged a fee determined by the appraisers and not disclosed to the borrower until after the fact. Borrowers beware and get an estimate for the cost of any appraisal from this company before you hand over your credit card information.
