My home is 11 years old as of this post. I noticed some carpenter ants in my house in the last couple weeks so I started hunting them down. Unfortunatley, they are in my walls. All because the builder did not flash my windows per code or put a membrane between my deck and my house. I've spent the last two days tearing off my siding, replacing rotten rim joists and sheating, now its time to flash the windows (ideally this would be done prior to installation) in order to form a complete barrier and hope the ants have not created a colony in my home.
