Our project was greatly delayed and had quite a few dead plants, some of which were considerably smaller than they should have been to begin with. He replaced a few small ones that died instantly but when he saw that more were dying he didn't come back and instead blamed me for not watering enough (completely untrue but certainly makes for a convenient way to get out of his so-called warranty). Soil was poor and mulch was very thin. There's plenty of good landscapers out there so don't bother with this one.
