Santa Fe Stables is an easy 30 minutes north from Santa Fe on Santa Clara Pueblo lands. They offer trail rides near the Black Mesa Golf Course. Owner-guide Karen has great horses and is very friendly, instructive and attentive. No experience necessary; she'll get you riding. This is spectacular high desert country. The rides offer beautiful and panoramic views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Rio Grande River Valley, the Jemez Mountains, the world famous Black Mesa Golf Course, and Black Mesa itself.
