I was born and raised in Ashley County (Arkansas) and for pretty much all my life, the only golf around was a private country club, nine-hole course halfway between Crossett and Hamburg -- that is until Scottie Pippen (yes, THAT NBA Pippen) and his brother Billy opened Pippen Meadows in the southern fringe of Hamburg a couple of years ago. I only got the chance to play there for the first time two weeks ago, and what a (pleasant) surprise. While it is only a nine-hole course, it is very well maintained, specifically the fairways and greens. The
